| Abstract: | A system and method of denoising a signal (10) having a plurality of intensities. The methodcan incudes the operation of identifying an image (1) neighborhood from the plurality of intensities (11). Afurther operation is treating the image neighborhood as a random variable (RV) having an associated sample space and probability density function (PDF). Another operation is modifying the pixel intensities based on an information measure applied to the PDF in at least one dimension. | |||||||||||
