(EN) METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR INSPECTING A PROTECTIVE SURFACE COATING

(ES) MÉTODO Y SISTEMA DE INSPECCIÓN DE UN REVESTIMIENTO DE PROTECCIÓN DE UNA SUPERFICIE

(EN) The invention relates to a method of inspecting a protective surface coating which in turn is covered with a layer of material. The invention is characterised in that it comprises the following steps, namely: (a) the layer of material covering the protective coating is removed; (b) images of the protective coating are acquired systematically and ordered; (c) the characteristics of the protective coating are assessed, by comparing data obtained from the images acquired in step (b) with data representative of pre-determined patterns; and (d) a report is produced on the protective coating, indicating the location of areas of the coating affected by any type of defect along with any recommendation for correcting same. The inventive method is advantageous in that it can be applied to an anchored vessel and, as a result, the intervals between putting the vessel into dry dock can be extended, thereby reducing costs and improving the safety of the vessel.

(ES) Método de inspección de un revestimiento de protección que cubre una superficie que a su vez está cubierto por una capa de material, caracterizado porque comprende las etapas de:a) eliminación de la capa de material que cubre el revestimiento de protección;b) captación sistemática y ordenada de imágenes del revestimiento de protección;c) evaluación de las características del revestimiento de protección por comparación de datos obtenidos a partir de las imágenes captadas en la etapa b) con datos representativos de patrones predeterminados;d) realización de un informe sobre el revestimiento de protección con indicación del emplazamiento de las zonas del mismo afectadas por algún tipo de defecto y de alguna recomendación para corregirlos.El método presenta la ventaja de poder aplicarse a un barco cuando se encuentre fondeado, lo que permite alargar los intervalos entre entradas a dique seco, disminuyendo los costes, y mejorando la seguridad del barco.
