| Title: | CHEMICAL SENSORS AND METHODS FOR THEIR USE | |||||||||||
| Abstract: | Chemical sensors are based upon compounds of transition metals. The group IIIB to group VIIIB metals, and the compounds are preferably carbides, nitrides, borides or silicides. The sensors are highly selective, and show large changes in electrical properties as a result of absorption of specific chemical species. Desorption characteristics of the sensors can be utilized to identify particular materials. | |||||||||||
