| Abstract: |
A gun equilibrator (26) including a driven shaft (34) connected to a gun barrel (10). The equilibrator (26) which compresses coned-disc springs (84) as movement of the shaft (34) lowers the elevated gun barrel (10). The shaft (34) is driven by a rotating device nut (66) that has acme threads engaging similar threads on the driven shaft. This simple design permits the compressed springs (84) to equilibrate the gun while the acme threads absorb recoil forces. |
