| Abstract: | A system and method for coaching a rescuer in administering chest compressions to a patient. Compression force is applied to a device placed on the chest of the patient. The device measures acceleration of the compression and a displacement is calculated from the measured acceleration. Based on the calculated displacement, tactile feedback is provided by the device to the rescuer to coach administration of CPR to the patient, such as providing a tactile indicator perceived by the rescuer's hands that the compression depth is sufficient and the compression should be released. | |||||||||||
