Japan Patent Office:  modifications to electronic filing requirements

On 1 January 2010, the Japan Patent Office, in its capacity as receiving Office, introduced an Internet version of its electronic filing software JPO-PAS, in addition to the ISDN version.  The ISDN version will be withdrawn with effect from 1 April 2010.  As a result, the Office has notified changes to its electronic filing requirements in accordance with Section 710(a)(i) to (iii) and (vi) of the Administrative Instructions under the PCT.  The electronic filing requirements, as modified with effect from 1 April 2010, will be published shortly in the Official Notices (PCT Gazette) at:
