New numbering system in the 2010 edition of the PCT Applicant’s Guide

The International Bureau has carried out a critical review of the structure and numbering in the PCT Applicant’s Guide (http://www.wipo.int/pct/guide/en/index.html) to make it more user-friendly.

As a result, a chapter-dependant numbering structure has been introduced and roman figures have been abandoned for the individual chapter numbers.  Minor editorial changes were also carried out during this review process and this new edition of the Guide, containing all of these changes, will be published on 14 January 2010 in English;  the French version will follow.  A further update to the text of the Guide, which will take into account the changes that entered into force on 1 January 2010, will be published shortly.
