Modifications to the Request Form

The request form (PCT/RO/101) has been revised with effect from 1 January 2010. 

The modifications include:

• The addition of check-boxes in Box No. IV (“Priority Claim”) to allow applicants to request the retrieval of priority documents from the receiving Office or the International Bureau from a digital library, in accordance with PCT Rule 17.1(b-bis);
• The possibility to exclude the designation of the Russian Federation has been deleted in order to reflect the change in the national law with effect from 5 June 2009 (see PCT Newsletter No. 09/2009);
• A new check-box in Boxes II and IV to allow applicants to authorize the International Bureau (as well as the receiving Office and the International Searching and Preliminary Examining Authority if those offices are willing to do so) to send notices by e-mail exclusively, without a paper copy being sent (please see note about this new check box, below).

Corresponding modifications have also been made to the notes to the request form, and information has also been added to advise applicants to mark-up the request form where the copy submitted is the original of an earlier copy filed by fax.
