PCT Working Group

Purpose of Group

At its 36th session, the PCT Assembly established a Working Group to do preparatory work for matters which require submission to the Assembly. Most commonly, this involves proposals for amendment of the Regulations under the PCT, but may include a wide variety of matters of interest to the PCT Assembly.

Proposed Amendments of the PCT Regulations —
for Comment by June 30, 2011

The linked document (Word format) is the preliminary draft of a document to be considered by the PCT Assembly at its 42nd session to be held from September 26 to October 5, 2011. It is made available so as to give an opportunity for comment by delegations and representatives to the Working Group. Particular attention should be given to drafting changes since the Working Group’s fourth session in June 2011 (see Rules 17.1(b-bis) and 82quater as proposed to be amended; drafting changes are identified by footnotes) and to proposed dates of entry into force and transitional arrangements (see paragraphs 6 to 13 and Annex II).

Comments should be submitted via e-mail to the Secretariat at pct.wg@wipo.int before June 30, 2011, and will, if possible, be taken into account by the International Bureau in the preparation of the final version of the document to be submitted to the Assembly.

Comments on any relevant issues for posting on this site may be submitted by States and organizations participating in the Working Group, by e-mail sent to WIPO's secretariat at pct.wg@wipo.int.  Interested persons may browse comments posted on the forum and/or subscribe to the forum's e-mail notification service in order to be informed by e-mail when new documents or comments become available.
