WIPO, Geneva, September 22 and 23, 2011

Objectives

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is organizing a third Symposium of Intellectual Property Authorities to be held on September 22 and 23, 2011, at WIPO. The Symposium will provide heads of IP authorities, industry leaders and other stakeholders with an international forum in which they can share ideas and experiences for improving services to be provided by IP authorities. (For previous symposia, please see https://www.wipo.int/pressroom/en/articles/2009/article_0035.html and https://www.wipo.int/meetings/en/2010/symp_ip_auth/.

This year the Symposium will focus on services for access to knowledge in promoting innovation and creativity. This theme is expected to encourage a lively debate and exchange of views on the future vision of IP Authorities on business solutions, supporting infrastructure, databases and tools.

The third Symposium will bring you up to date on these on-going projects for sharing knowledge and work, and will explore the future vision of international collaboration and global infrastructure.

WIPO has invited its member States, IGOs, and NGOs accredited as WIPO observers to this Symposium..
