A Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney, he is the senior partner of Gill Jennings & Every LLP, where he started his career in 1971. He took a lead role in early practice-forming decisions of the EPO in respect of PCT application procedures, has litigated in English and Scottish Courts, and handled many oppositions and appeals in the EPO.

He has advised both the UKIPO and EPO in regard to electronic filing and publication strategies and is the former Chairman of Computer Patent Annuities.

Her was elected to the post of Secretary General of AIPPI in October 2006
