Jorge Amigo Castañeda Director General Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI) Mexico

Jorge Amigo was born in México. He has a Bachelor and a Masters Degree in Economics.

Mr. Amigo’s professional experience includes several management positions in banking and private industries as well as different governmental positions within the Ministry of Commerce.

Since 1994 he was designated as Director General of the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property.

Mr. Amigo has held several positions in WIPO’s Assemblies and Committees.

Mr. Amigo received the “Venice International Award for Intellectual Property 2006”.

In December 2008 he was awarded by Mr. Francis Gurry, with WIPO’s Gold Medal.
