Daniel Kraus is Counsel with Umbricht Attorneys (www.umbricht.com) in Zurich and Bern, Switzerland, specializing in intellectual property law, including enforcement; competition law; commercial and contractual law; arbitration and mediation.
He is Senior lecturer in intellectual property law; intellectual property, biotechnology and information technology; international intellectual property law, development and public health at the University of Neuchâtel. He also teaches in the Master in IP Law & Management at the Centre d'Etudes Internationales de la Propriété Industrielle (CEIPI), Université Robert Schuman, Strasbourg, as well as at the Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology in Lausanne and Zurich, the Geneva-Lausanne School of Pharmaceutical Studies and at the Institut de lutte contre la criminalité économique in Neuchâtel. He was awarded several awards for his teachings and publications.
Daniel Kraus is former Head of Training and technical cooperation (2005-2008), Deputy head international trade relations (2002-2005) and legal advisor (1999-2001) at the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property. He was formerly working in a specialized IP law firm in Geneva.
