Mr. A. Zen Umar Purba joined ABNR Counsellors at Law in 1986. The holder of an LL.M degree from Harvard Law School, he is a law graduate of the University of Indonesia and a professor at its Faculty of Law. He held the position of Director General of Intellectual Property Rights, Department of Justice, Republic of Indonesia (“RI”) from 1999-2002. He received a certificate of appreciation from the RI President in his role as “IP Development Figure” on the World IP Day 2007. Within ABNR, he handles matters involving investment, capital market, corporate law and intellectual property rights. In the field of arbitration he was the chairman of the Capital Market Arbitration Board and is presently the chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Arbitration Board.
