Andrew W. Wyckoff has held several positions within the OECD where he has worked on science, technology and industry issues. As head of the Economic Analysis and Statistics division within the Directorate of Science, Technology and Industry (STI), he oversees work on the design, development and analysis of indicators of science and technology, the information economy, industrial performance and globalization. Recent work include contributions to an OECD-wide project analyzing differences in economic growth across OECD Member countries during the 1990s especially the role of ICTs, the economic impact of the international mobility of the high skilled and the contribution of R&D to productivity growth, see www.oecd.org/sti/statistical-analysis.
Prior to joining the OECD, he was program manager of the Information, Telecommunications and Commerce program of the US Congressional Office of Technology Assessment (OTA), an economist at the US National Science Foundation (NSF) and a programmer at the Brookings Institution. He has an undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont and a degree in Public Policy from Harvard University.
