For the time being, the Office republishes in the on-line periodical “The Croatian Intellectual Property Gazette” notifications of international registration, subsequent designation and renewal received from the International Bureau for informational purposes only.

Absolute grounds only (ex-officio procedure).

Article 5. of the Trademarks Act

Three months commencing on the first day of the month following publication in the WIPO Gazette (non-extendable).
Relative grounds for refusal (inter partes procedure)
Article 6. of the Trademarks Act

For the absolute grounds:
Four months from the date of issue of notification by the Croatian Office
to respond to the preliminary refusal through the appointed representative (extendable – 60 days).
For the relative grounds (opposition procedure):
Four months from the date of issue of notification by the Croatian Office to file a power of attorney of holder's representative
60 days from the day of receipt of the copy of the opposition by the authorized representative to file observations on the opppostiion (non-extendable).

A final decision of refusal by the Office can be appealed before the Boards of Appeal (BOA) within 30 days of receipt of the decision.
The BOA'S decision may be contested before the Administrative Court of First Instance.
