The Office does not accept all the class headings used by the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks

Representation before the Office

Holders of international registrations may be represented by lawyers, members of the Colombian Intellectual Property Association (ACPI), the International Trademark Association (INTA), the Asociación Internacional para la Protección de la Propiedad Industrial e Intelectual (AIPPI) or of the Chambers of Commerce

Collective and Guarantee Marks

The regulations or instruments governing the use of the mark must be submitted to the Office within 60 working days following the notification of the request.
Requests for registration of collective marks must be accompanied by:
(a) a copy of the statutes of the association, organization or group of individuals requesting the registration of the collective mark;
(b) the list of members; and,
(c) indication of the conditions governing, and the form of, use of the collective mark with regard to the products or services.

Requests for registration of certification marks must be accompanied by:

The regulations governing the use of the mark: indicating those products or services which may be certified by their holder; defining the characteristics guaranteed by the presence of the mark, and; describing the manner in which verification of such characteristics shall be carried out prior to and following authorization of use of the mark.

The regulations governing use shall be recorded along with the mark.
