Madrid System Users Meeting (MSUM)

All are welcome to attend the Madrid System Users Meeting (MSUM) that is being organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) at the INTA 132nd Annual Meeting.  The MSUM will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2010, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Boston, Massachusetts.

This meeting offers participants the opportunity to meet with Ms. Wang Binying, Deputy Director General, in charge of the Brand and Designs Sector of WIPO as well as her team. Hear officials from the International Bureau of WIPO speak about the recent achievements and ongoing activities on the Madrid System for the International Registration of Marks;  obtain from representatives of the trademark offices of the Russian Federation and Turkey updates on their respective national law or practice with respect to the Madrid System, in particular, how to handle and avoid notifications of provisional refusal issued by these Offices; hear trademark officials from the United States of America describe the recent changes to US law regarding the maintenance of US trademark registrations.

The speakers and other Madrid and Designs experts from WIPO will be available for informal follow-up questions by MSUM attendees at the WIPO Booth in the Exhibition Hall of the INTA Annual Meeting.
