Madrid System Users Meeting (MSUM)

All are welcome to attend the Madrid System Users Meeting (MSUM) that is being organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) at the INTA 131st Annual Meeting.  The MSUM will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2009, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Washington State Convention and Trade Center (WSCTC) in Seattle.

Hear officials from the trademark offices of Japan and the United States of America (invited) speak about their national law with respect to the Madrid System for the International Registration of Marks and, in particular, how to handle and avoid notifications of provisional refusal issued by their Offices.

Hear from Ernesto Rubio, Assistant Director General, Sector of Trademarks, Industrial Designs and Geographical Indications, and other Madrid experts from WIPO.
