Main Findings
While illegal downloading appeals to both genders, boys (52%) were slightly more likely to illegally download music from the Internet. "White" teens (53%) were also more likely to illegally download music than other races. Reasons cited for illegal downloading included: "it's free", "it's more convenient" (avoid trip to store), "hear music before buying", and "discover new artists".
