Main Findings
In 2007, 51.6% of Spaniards approved of sharing (downloading/uploading) software, literature, music and videos on the Internet (just 17.6% disapproved of it). 67.4% considered reducing the prices of CDs, DVDs and books the best way to eliminate piracy. Other anti-piracy measures suggested were: “to increase police pressure on the mafias benefiting from piracy” (41.9%), “to prosecute pirate sellers” (16.1%), and “social outreach campaigns” (15.3%).
55.4% were unaware of the governments "Contra la piratería, defiende tu cultura" anti-piracy campaign. 74.3% of those familiar with the campaign found it little or not at all effective.
