Main duties
Under the supervision of the Director of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) Business Development Division, and in close cooperation with a wide range of affected units, the incumbent has, in particular, the following duties:
- assisting in the work connected with development of the PCT system, including, in particular, legal work involving the preparation of draft Treaty provisions and amendments to the Regulations, Administrative Instructions and Guidelines under the PCT;
- participating in consultations with member States, industrial property Offices, PCT International Authorities and intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations concerning development of the PCT system;
- assisting the PCT Legal Division, the PCT Operations Division and the PCT International Cooperation Division with implementation of changes to the PCT system;
- preparing studies, documents and meetings concerning the PCT, representing WIPO at such meetings, and preparing their reports;
- performing other related tasks as necessary.
