Main duties
Under the supervision of the Director of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) Business Development Division, and in close cooperation with a wide range of affected units, the incumbent has, in particular, the following duties:
- assisting in the development of IT standards and systems requirements relating to the PCT, assessing the requirements of the International Bureau and partner Offices and making practical recommendations, taking into account costs, existing systems and the varying requirements of applicants, different areas of the International Bureau and a wide range of partner Offices and third party interests;
- analyzing business and legal requirements of the PCT and ensuring that technical proposals meet those requirements, where necessary also taking into account related requirements of national industrial property systems;
- preparing studies, documents and meetings concerning IT standards relating to the PCT, representing WIPO at such meetings, and preparing their reports;
- performing other related tasks as necessary.
