Procedures Applying when this Contracting Party is Designated


The Office does not republish the international registration or renewals.

Examination Procedure

The Office carries out examination on substantive grounds on issues such as the definition of a 'design', public order and morality and the protection of State emblems.

Opposition Period


Time Limit for Responding to Refusal

Three months from the date of notification of refusal (extendable only for certain reasons).

Effect as Grant of Protection

The international registration has the effect as a grant of protection as from six months after the date of publication in the International Designs Bulletin.

Representation before the Office

Any applicant who is not domiciled in Tunisia must consitute an IP representative from Tunisia. A list of registered IP representatives is maintained by the Office and may be obtained directly from the Office.

Fees payable on division of the international registration

Not applicable.
