The Office republishes the international registration, in Romanian, in the national Official Industrial Property Bulletin (BOPI), within 5 days from the date of publication in the International Designs Bulletin, at: |

The Office carries out an examination as to universal novelty and an examination as to novelty following opposition by third parties. |
| Opposition Period |
Two months from the date of publication in the International Designs Bulletin (non-extendable). |
| Time Limit for Responding to Refusal |
Two months from the date of the notification (non-extendable). |
| Effect as Grant of Protection |
The international registration has the effect as a grant of protection, if no refusal has been issued, as from the international registration date. If a refusal (partial or total) has been issued and the refusal has been subsequently withdrawn, the international registration has the effect as a grant of protection as from the international registration date. |
| Representation before the Office |
Holders may appear directly before the Office on some matters only. A list of industrial property attorneys allowed to practice before the Office is maintained by the Office which may be acquired directly, or at: |
