Procedures Applying when this Contracting Party is Designated
The Office does not republish international registrations or renewals.
The Office carries out examination on substantive grounds, other than novelty, on issues such as the definition of a 'design', public order and morality, and on the protection of State emblems.
|Time Limit for Responding to Refusal||
Two months from the date of the notification (non-extendable).
|Effect as Grant of Protection||
The international registration has the effect as a grant of protection as from the international registration date. If a refusal (partial) has been issued and the refusal has been subsequently withdrawn, the international registration has the effect as a grant of protection as from the international registration date. If the refusal is total, the international registration has no effect in this territory.
|Representation before the Office||
Natural or legal persons not having a domicile in Morocco may not appear directly before the Office and require a local representative. The Office maintains a list of local IP representatives which may be obtained directly from the Office or through a written request sent by post.
|Fees payable on division of the international registration||
