Procedures Applying when this Contracting Party is Designated
The Office does not republish international registrations nor renewals.
The Office carries out examination on substantive grounds, on issues such as the definition of a 'design', public order and morality and the protecton of State emblems.
|Time Limit for Responding to Refusal||
Two months from the date of receipt of the notification (extendable once for two months).
|Effect as Grant of Protection||
The international registration has the effect as a grant of protection as from the international registration date.
|Representation before the Office||
Persons not having a domicile or place of business in a member State of the European Community (EU), or in a State party to the Agreement of the European Economic Area (EEA) must, within the allocated timeframe provided for by INPI, appoint a representative satisfying the conditions laid down under Article R.512-1.
