The Office republishes the international registration, after examination, in the Danish Design Gazette at:

Examination Procedure

The Office carries out examination on substantive grounds, other than novelty, on issues such as the definition of a 'design', public order and morality.

Opposition Period


Time Limit for Responding to Refusal

Two months from the date of notification (extendable for periods of two months, if the request for extension is received by the Office within the prior time limit).

Effect as Grant of Protection

The international registration has the effect as a grant of protection as from the international registration date.

Creator requirements

Not applicable.

Priority documents

Not required.

Representation before the Office

Holders may file documents or appear directly before the Office for all matters. The Office may require translation of correspondence into Danish. The Office does not maintain a list of IP agents or representatives.

Fees payable on division of the international registration

Not applicable.
