The Office does not republish international registrations or renewals.
The Office does not carry out a substantive examination.
Three months from the date publication (non-extendable).
|Time Limit for Responding to Refusal||
30 days from the date of receipt of the notification (non-extendable).
|Effect as Grant of Protection||
The international registration has the effect as a grant of protection, if no refusal has been issued, as from the international registration date. If a refusal (partial or total) has been issued and the refusal has been subsequently withdrawn, the international registration has the effect as a grant of protection as from the date the Office received the request for withdrawal.
|Representation before the Office||
Holders of international registrations may not file documents or appear directly before the Office. A list of representatives is available directly from the Office at:
