TECHNICAL DETAILS

  • ensure you use the latest version of the most common browsers. For Internet Explorer, ensure you use version 8 or later;
  • ensure Adobe FLASH plug-in is installed in order to upload multiple reproductions at once;
  • ensure Acrobat Reader (or a program for reading PDF files) software is installed in order to read the PDF acknowledgement of receipt;
  • prepare each reproduction in a separate electronic file, in JPEG or TIFF image format, with its file size not exceeding 2 megabytes and in RGB (not CMYK) color mode;
  • prepare each reproduction of each design in a resolution of 300x300 dpi so that, when printed, the dimensions do not exceed 16 x 16 centimeters and are at least 3 x 3 centimeters;
  • if filing as representative of the holder/applicant, convert the Power of Attorney, or DM/7 form, into PDF format to be uploaded;
  • before submitting the application all mandatory sections must be completed;
  • avoid use of the back and forward buttons in your web browser when within the application;
  • in case of a blockage during an urgent filing, users may use the paper form and fax it to the International Bureau of WIPO.

PAYMENT DETAILS

  • the fee calculator automatically calculates the total due in the online application;
    • if paying fees by transfer to the WIPO bank account or by payment into the WIPO postal account, include the name of the applicant in the payment transfer details in the payment section, or
    • if paying through a current account that your company has opened with WIPO, have your user account number and password available to enter into the payment section. Note that this user account corresponds to the one used for the E-Payment and E-Renewal services;
    • if you intend to pay by credit card, add the data requested;
  • if payment is not made at the time of filing, the International Bureau will send an irregularity letter requesting the payment of fees and providing a reference number to enable payment through the e-payment interface (note: the filing date is not affected if payment is not made at the time of the filing).
