Electronic Filing of International Applications (E-filing)

An Electronic filing of international applications interface (E-filing) is available.

An application filed electronically is deemed to be an international application presented under Rule 7(1)(a) of the Common Regulations of the Hague Agreement.

Please note the following important requirements on the formats of documents accompanying an electronic application:

    • any reproduction accompanying an application filed electronically shall be in JPEG or TIFF image format and shall not exceed the file size of 2 megabytes, and shall be in RGB (not CMYK) color mode:
    • any reproduction accompanying an application filed electronically shall be in a combination of pixel number and resolution such that, when that reproduction is printed, the dimensions of the representation of the industrial design will not exceed 16 x 16 centimeters, and one of those dimensions will be at least 3 centimeters;
    • any power of attorney accompanying an application filed electronically shall be in the PDF format.

Users are invited to consult document DM/1.INF (“Explanatory Notes on the Official Application form DM/1) when filling in an international application through the electronic filing interface.
