How to Attend the Diplomatic Conference

The Diplomatic Conference on the Protection of Audiovisual Performances will take place at the China World Hotel of China World Trade Centre (CWTC), Beijing, China, from Wednesday, June 20 to Tuesday, June 26, 2012.

The Conference is open to Government delegations, representatives of invited intergovernmental organizations (IGOs) and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and others as defined in Rule 2 of the Draft Rules of Procedure of the Diplomatic Conference.

 

1. Obtain Credentials and Letters of Appointment

Member States representatives will need to be provided with credentials, and, for signing the Treaty on Audiovisual Performances, with full powers as detailed in Rule 6 of the Draft Amended Rules of Procedure of the Diplomatic Conference. The said full powers should be signed by the Head of State, the Head of Government or the Minister for Foreign Affairs.

IGO and NGO representatives will need letters of appointment as detailed in Rule 7 of the Draft Amended Rules of Procedure of the Diplomatic Conference. The letters of appointment should be signed by the Executive Head of the Organization they represent.

Participants are reminded that credentials are essential to participate in the Conference and to sign the final Act of the Conference.

Full powers are needed for those States that wish to sign the Treaty at the end of the Conference.

3. Obtain a China Entry Visa

Delegates, representatives of observer organizations and other participants are responsible to arrange for their own visas.  As a general rule, the delegates, representatives of observer organizations and other participants are required to obtain their China entry visas at the Embassies or Consulates of China in their respective countries. They should be in possession of valid entry visas before commencing their travel.
