Principles of Copyright: Cases and Materials
In its efforts to provide technical assistance on the enforcement of intellectual property rights and at the request of numerous judges and government authorities in the Arab countries, the Arab Bureau, in collaboration with law professors from Oxford, Paris and Cairo Universities, has prepared a publication consisting of a comprehensive casebook of comparative judicial precedence on copyright and related rights cases. This serves as a basic reference material on related court decisions for the Arab countries. It is also used in WIPOs training sessions for judges, lawyers and administrators who are specialized in the area.
The casebook includes three parts covering common law cases, civil law cases and cases in the Arab countries, and exists in three languages: English, French and Arabic. In future, the publication may also be developed to serve as useful teaching material for the WIPO Worldwide Academy (WWA) and as a training manual to be used in other regions of the Economic Development Sector.
