Name: Peter Jordaan Organization: westernaustralia.com Position: Owner Sirs, I am the owner of the the geographical domain westernaustralia.com, so I consider myself a key stakeholder - especially in the light of the fact that the request letter investigating this matter originated from the Australian government. My comments follow: 1. Com and Net geographical domains should be used, as in my own case, for private commerce. The suffix was not established, nor should it become, the domain of governments. That is what the 'Gov' suffix is for. There is no necessity for governments or government bodies to require geographical domains outside the 'gov' suffix. Anything else would at this date constitute an immoral hijacking of thousands of private legitimate businesses around the world, like my own, which for several years now, have established addresses and businesses using geographical com, net and org domains, e.g Amazon.com 2. If it is felt that geographical domains require their own distinct top level domain, aside from com, net, and org, there should be a new suffix created: 'geo' Sincerely, Peter Jordaan
