Name: Kelly Organization: Fallon Position: Network Analyst I have a personal domain based on my name. I intend to use this for the entire course of my life. Currently I use it every day as a smtp mail gateway to route mail to me where ever I am at. I have minimal contact information publicly availibale and other content privatly available via http. There seems to be an assumption of the ignorant that use of a domain to host public web servers using the http or https protocols is the only thing that constitues use. Not only is that a completely false assumption, assuming http will be the dominant public information exchange protocol on the internet 20 years from now is equally uninformed. Over the course of my lifetime I will be use my domain name for many things uncluding protocols that do not even exist yet. If some person or corperate entity attempted to steal my domain from me though use of a legal system I would go absolutly ballistic. Please do not put yourself in a position to be used as a tool in such a crime. |
