Name: Nicholas Bludworth Organization: Slashdot Position: Subscriber To Whom It May Concern: I feel that the WIPO, among other organizations need to take a serious look at their methods for domain dispute resolution. The internet it a very new medium, and this means that the same intellectual property rules that have been a standard for so long do not apply necessarily to the internet. I urge to WIPO to keep in mind that the internet is a haven of freedom, and while there are exceptions, vary rarely should an already in use domain be turned over to a company simply becuase this company is larger and more powerful. I believe this has happened too often in cases decided by the WIPO. Too many alternate options continue to reveal themselves for me to stand by such hard-lined decisions. Cordially, Nicholas Bludworth |
