Subject: WIPO RFC-2
Having experienced the registration of my U.S. Federal Trademark by a cyberpirate and only retrieving ir after a lengthy and frustrating ordeal with NSI in causing placement of the domain name "on hold" the issue was not resolved until a copyright and trademark suit was filed in the U.S. District Court. Suit was filed against both the ISP and the registrant.
Any support that I can give you from my experience - to require some form of common-sense checking of trademmarks and business directories prior to snatching a domain is yours for the asking.
I don't know the solution, but some relief should be available to trademark holders so as not to be burdened with the cost of registration for each and every gTLD that may come to be in the future.
