We should appreciate being placed on your mailing list to receive all
communications relative to the issuance of Domain names, more so, how they
conflict with U.S. Registered Trademarks, by use of Domain names by
individuals or firms, that do not own the U.S. Registered Trademark and
make use of the registered trademark as their Domain name.
We are presently in the position, where our name INTERELECTRONICS and
PAGEX, both U.S. Trade Mark and Patent Office registered trademarks, since
1949, are being used as Domain addresses, as INTERELECTRONICS.COM AND
PAGEX.COM, -.NET and .-ORG by individuals or firms other than ourselves.
We are unable to make use of our own registered names, secured and
registered at more than considerable expense, effort and time, for our own
Internet Domain name address.
We ask, that any request for a Domain name, CERTIFY that this name is NOT a
U.S. registered trademark, or if it is discovered that it is, that name
use will be immediately terminated and cannot be used as an Internet
address by the applicant who does NOT own the Trademark. The name will then
revert back to the original owner of the U.S. registered trademark for use
as an Internet Domain name at the request of the registered Trademark
owner. The registered trademark owner must supply copy of the U. S.
Trademark registration to confirm his ownership of the trademark to your
organization.
We recognize that the Internet is world-wide, but Internet Domain name
useage centered in the United States with a U.S. registered trademark
should be limited to the U. S. Trademark owner. Trademark owners in other
countries should have similar rights in their own country.
A means to limit or permit the use of the same prefix name in the Domain
address, and the suffix, such as .com, .net and .org and others, should be
limited to the United States and the same prefix name with other suffixes
may be used for other countries. Most countries do have their own
suffixes, unique for their own country. The problem is now with the
unauthorized use of a U.S. registered trademark by those who cannot legally
use the Trademark in commerce, but can use the name as their Internet
Domain address. The Domain name issuer has this responsibility and must
provide this protection for the use of registered trademarks, which is no
more than reasonable.
