On June 23, 1998, he read his thesis on "Contribution of industrial property rights to the capital of companies by shares" at the Law Faculty of the Complutense University of Madrid, obtaining the Doctorate Degree with the highest possible grade.

This work was the basis for the later publication of the book "La aportación de derechos de propiedad industrial a las sociedades anónimas" (Contribution of industrial property rights to the share capital of corporations), published in 1999 by Aranzadi Editors.

Apart from this book, Raúl Bercovitz has many other publications (review articles and book chapters) in different areas of Business Law, such as Intellectual property Law, Corporate (Company) Law, Consumer Law, Commercial Contracts, Securities Market, etc. Besides, he has collaborated in other publications.

After finishing his Doctoral thesis, he continued combining professional practise with his academic activity at the university. In this way, he has been lecturing as associate professor at the Law Faculty of the Complutense University of Madrid from October 1998 until today, on Business Law subjects (Law Degree).

From 1991 he has attended numerous congresses, study days and seminars, mainly on Intellectual Property Law and Competition Law, both in Spain and abroad.

He is member of several legal associations, such as the A.E.D.C. (“Asociación española de Derecho de la Competencia” –Spanish Group of LIDC-), A.L.A.D.D.A. (“Asociación Literaria y Artística para la Defensa del Derecho de Autor” –Spanish Group of ALAI-) and A.I.P.P.I. (Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Industrielle).
