Curriculum Vitae - Ms. Laurence Djolakian
Laurence Djolakian currently works in the Brussels Office of the Motion Picture Association as Deputy Legal Counsel. Her responsibilities include monitoring closely the following issues: domain names, data protection, Brussels/Rome Conventions, copyright legislation, and E-commerce.
Ms. Djolakians previous experience is drawn from her work at the European Commission (Internal Market Directorate General), more specifically on commercial communications and E-commerce. In 1997, she began to work at the Federation of European Direct Marketing (FEDMA) in Brussels. She was then appointed Director of Public Affairs and took charge of all issues concerning E-commerce, commercial communications, data protection, Internet domain names, postal services, and distance selling.
Ms. Djolakian completed her law studies at the University of Aix en Provence (France). She obtained a Master's Degree in law from the University of Exeter (U.K.) and a Postgraduate Degree in European and Community law in Aix en Provence.
