Kunihiro Kitano, a national of Japan, is Deputy Director of the International Affairs Department, AIST in Tsukuba, Japan. AIST is the largest public research institute for industrial technology in Japan. He is in charge of international cooperation of AIST. He has been involved in the drawing process of agreements and negotiations with foreign research organizations.

Dr. Kitano holds a Doctor of Engineering from the Hokkaido University in Japan.
