Curriculum Vitae Mr. David Rivkin
David W. Rivkin is a litigation partner at Debevoise & Plimpton in New York. He has had broad experience in the fields of international litigation and arbitration, as he has handled international arbitrations throughout the world. Subjects of these arbitrations have included technology disputes, longterm energy concessions, joint venture agreements, intellectual property, insurance coverage, construction and distribution agreements. He has also represented Latin American, European and Asian companies in litigation in the United States involving disputes over the enforcement of arbitral awards and arbitration agreements, as well as other transnational disputes.
Mr. Rivkin is active in many professional organizations. Among others, he is Chair of the Committee on Arbitration and ADR (Committee D) of the International Bar Association and a member of the Board of Directors of the American Arbitration Association, where he has also headed task forces to revise the Associations international and commercial arbitration rules. He is also a member of the LCIA Court and Vice-President of the LCIAs North American Users Council, a member of the ICC Commission and formerly a member of the NAFTA Advisory Committee on Private Commercial Disputes.
He holds degrees from Yale College and Yale Law School.
