Curriculum Vitae Ms. Catherine Kessedjian
Ms. Catherine Kessedjian, a national of France, is Professor at the University of Paris II (Panthéon-Assas), France.
Ms. Kessedjian was Deputy Secretary General of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (1996-2000), on secondment from the Université de Bourgogne. She had responsibility for preparing and monitoring the negotiations for the proposed worldwide Convention on jurisdiction and judgements. Ms. Kessedjian was also in charge of commercial matters, including electronic commerce.
She currently acts as a mediator or arbitrator in a selected number of transnational disputes.
Previously, Ms. Kessedjian has taught International Business Transactions, and European Business Law (including competition and dispute resolution) and has participated in specialized seminars in international litigation and international commercial arbitration. She has been the Director of the European Law Center of the Université de Bourgogne and of a post-graduate program for International Business Lawyers. From 1982 to 1998 she was a practicing attorney in Paris, focusing on transnational litigation and international business transactions.
Ms. Kessedjian has a Doctorate from the University of Paris and an LLM from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
