Andrew Christie, a national of Australia, is a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Centre for Innovation Law and Policy at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and, in 2001, will be Fulbright Senior Scholar and Visiting Professor at Duke University School of Law. He is also an Associate Professor, and Director of the Graduate Program in Intellectual Property Law, at the University of Melbourne Law Schoo l.
Professor Christie is admitted to legal practice in Australia and the United Kingdom, and worked for many years in the intellectual property departments of law firms in Melbourne and London. He has particular expertise in the application of intellectual property law, especially copyright law and patent law, to the digital environment. He is a member of the Technical Committee for Law and Technology for the International Association of Science and Technology for Development, a member of the editorial board for the Digital Technology Law Journal, and a member of the Intellectual Property Committee of the Law Council of Australia. He is also member of the Panel of Neutrals of the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center, in which capacity he has adjudicated numerous cybersquatting disputes.
Professor Christie has Bachelors degrees in Science and in Law from the University of Melbourne, an LLM from the University of London, and a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge.
