1st WIPO-WTO Advanced Course on Intellectual Property for Government Officials On October 5, 2009, Dr. Francis Gurry, Director-General WIPO, welcomed twenty government officials from developing countries, least-developed countries and countries with economies in transition, and three from developed countries and one from the European Union who begin their participation in the first joint WIPO-WTO Advanced Course on Intellectual Property (IP) organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Launch of a new Masters Program in Intellectual Property Law Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) have jointly developed an innovative program that is unique to the Asia-Pacific region. The course is designed to meet the needs of current and aspiring intellectual property professionals from law and non-law backgrounds. It provides knowledge of IP law, policy and practice in an international context with an emphasis on the Asia-Pacific region.
