This Masters Degree is offered jointly with the WIPO Academy and Austral University (Buenos Aires, Argentina) in collaboration with the Government of Argentina through the National Intellectual Property Institute (INPI). The program is structured in three cycles stretching over twelve months, from April to February:
|First Part (April 29 to September 27, 2013):||Face-to-face classes held at Austral University, Buenos Aires, Argentina;|
|Second Part (September 28 to November 15, 2013):||Handing in of written assignments; and;|
|Third Part (November 16, 2013, to February 1, 2014):||Writing, finalization and submission of a thesis.|
The curriculum aims to provide an in-depth examination of the topics of Intellectual Property (IP) law practice in an international and regional context as well as a specialized analysis of the latest development in the field of IP. Subjects covered include:

- Copyright and Related Rights
- Patents and other Forms of Innovation Protection
- Contracts and Licensing
- Legal International IP Framework
- Economic Analysis of IP

- Drafting of Patent Applications
- IP and Information Technology
- IP Management in Science and Technology Research Agencies
- Entertainment, Sport and Advertising laws
- Financial and Accounting Aspects of Intangible Assets
- Innovation Management
- IP Strategies in Global Companies
- Research and Thesis
Upon satisfactory completion of the program, participants will be awarded a Master Degree in Intellectual Property, awarded by the Austral University on behalf of WIPO.
Applicants must hold a four-year degree in law, economics, engineering, medicine, physics, chemistry, communication sciences or business administration. Proof of Spanish proficiency is required and English reading comprehension ability is necessary. A total of 35 places are available in the program.
Registration for this Masters Degree is open from November to January. WIPO offers 15 scholarships to highly motivated persons from Latin American countries. Each scholarship covers a return air ticket, tuition, board, lodging and health insurance for the duration of the residential part of the program.
Five scholarships, covering tuition, are offered by Austral University and the Government of Argentina through INPI.
