WIPO-Mexico Summer School on Intellectual Property

May 24, 2018

The tenth edition of the WIPO-Mexico Summer School on IP was held in Guadalajara from May 7 to 18, 2018, in cooperation with the Instituto Mexicano de la Propiedad Industrial (IMPI) and the Universidad de Guadalajara (UDG).

The Summer School took place in an auditorium on the ninth floor of the Universidad de Guadalajara (UDG) and welcomed around 45 participants, mostly from the region.  After nine editions in Mexico City, this was the first time the summer school was delivered in a different city and participants from the region were particularly grateful for this change of strategy, which allowed many of them to participate.

What are WIPO Summer Schools?

WIPO Summer Schools are designed for senior students, junior professionals and government officials.  They cover the main topics on IP in a multidisciplinary way.

Participants have to complete the WIPO Academy DL101 General Course on IP before beginning the face to face training portion. By doing so, they arrive in the classroom with a more or less equal base of knowledge on the subjects which will be covered and the training can then take on a more problem-oriented and interactive approach.
