Payment of Fees - Madrid System

Under the Madrid system, all fees must be paid in Swiss francs (CHF)

Types of fees


How to pay

Fees can be paid by:

Credit card

WIPO current account

Deductions from WIPO current accounts are authorized either by:

  • entering your WIPO current account number in the E-Renewal or E-Payment services, or
  • quoting your WIPO current account number in the MM forms.

Bank and postal transfer

Payments can only be made in Swiss francs. 

Note that all bank charges are to be settled by the payor.

In order for WIPO to properly attribute your payment, the following details should be provided:

  • Payer’s name
  • Payer’s complete address
  • Application code type (EN, EX, RE, etc....)
  • Trademark number (national for registration and international for other purpose)
  • Trademark name (if available)
  • Name of the trademark’s holder (if different than the payer)

Payment follow-up

The International Bureau of WIPO will send an acknowledgement of receipt to the person or entity effecting a payment to a WIPO bank or postal account within 10 days from such receipt. If the aforementioned acknowledgement is not received within the said period, please inform the International Bureau of WIPO at the following address:
