As part of the implementation of the decision taken by the 2023 Assemblies of the Member States that “WIPO will provide adequate funding to facilitate the participation in the Diplomatic Conference of 2 representatives of Indigenous People and Local Communities from each sociocultural region used by the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues”, and taking into account the rules of the Voluntary Fund as applicable, we would like to propose that a virtual meeting of the Advisory Board be convened by its Chair in order for the Advisory Board to proceed with the selection of the applications that should be recommended for funding, and to adopt a report reflecting its recommendations in this regard to be addressed to the WIPO Secretariat for due implementation. |
